Olympic Stadium becomes a SMART object on Amsterdam's energy grid

Achieving sustainability goals requires steps in the energy chain – from using fossil fuels for energy generation and transportation to reducing consumption.

More sustainable energy means an increase and complexity in generation and transport, smart and digital energy grids make this possible. At Arenapoort it is made in co-creation with partners.

We are looking for partners in Indonesia for the Johan Cruijff Arena for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Generating sustainable energy alone is not the only reason why Smart Grids are needed. However, the reality is that electricity from renewable sources is not always supplied from a central point. Thanks to the construction of wind turbines, solar meadows with solar panels, supply can come from several sides. It is therefore important that electricity is redistributed between, for example, homes and businesses. This means that this energy grid must know when to redistribute power in order to continue to meet electricity supply and demand. Therefore, an intelligent measurement and control system has been added to this form of facility. This system measures energy peaks and current troughs and then ensures that energy is supplied or redistributed efficiently. The stadium has the goal to also produce energy from dataheat and supply to the grid before 2030. (www.rrradvice.nl)

Energy neutral village cluster in 2040.

In 2040 a 'Hoeksche Waard' without gas, plague the ambitions

of all villlages in 'Hoeksche Waard'. On November 27,

the second meeting of the three main villages was

held in Klaaswaal village about spatial consequences

of the energy transition in 'Hoeksche Waard'. Stakeholder

interests are inspired and invited to help

build promising scenarios.

The multiple parties involved take guests into an energy-neutral future. They were urged by alderman Den Boer (Regional portfolio holder for Energy and Climate): “We have signed the energy vision together, so that we all oblige to work on it. In 22 years we will be energy neutral, that's the ambition. So the shoulders under it are entrepreneurs, government, private sector, and experts.

In the second part of the meeting, it is the turn of the participants. More than 60 residents, council members, council members, proponents and representatives of various 'Hoeksche Waardse' organizations were brought to three scenarios: energy fringes, village energy and production landscapes. Large banners outlining the scenario were placed in three corners. After a brief explanation there is room for discussion and participants with red and green stickers indicate preferences and disagreements.

Feedback from participants is taken into account and translated into practical short, medium and long term visions. In early 2018, the elaboration will be presented in the third session, accompanied by examples of concrete steps such as solar panels to implement the scenario. (www.rrradvice.nl

Drechtsteden 100% Energy Neutral

Energy is one of the big themes for the future.

The electronics team, led by BVR, Richard Ruijtenbeek

and Gerlof Rienstra, together with a number of experts in the

this, translates complex energy problems into

imaginable spatial and integrated images.

We recently did this for the metropolitan area

WestAs and now for the Drechtsteden region.

Regional goal: 100% energy neutral by 2050. This goal can only be achieved through the intelligent mobilization of knowledge and expertise and the commitment of governments, companies, knowledge institutions and communities. The means for this: a spatial studio.

The core task is to construct three extreme scenarios and use them to develop a fourth 'synthesis scenario' with all involved, taking into account the long-term (2050), short-term (2023) and intermediate trajectories (development paths). Effects are mapped for each scenario and connections are made with other regional tasks. The E-Team consortium consists of BVR, research and policy advice Rienstra, RRR-Advice and NHTV.(www.rrradvice.nl

Rotterdam bans usages of natural gas, for CO2 reduction

In the New Energy coalition agreement in Rotterdam, five regional approaches to natural gas are free, including Bospolder-Tussendijken, which wants to investigate how the existing environment can be made natural gas free so that it can be improved. all of Rotterdam.

For Rotterdam, the approach plan for the implementation process within the construction team was overseen together with Eneco, Havensteder and the city government. City officials were also trained during implementation (learning by doing) for the chocolate process in Figure 3.1 below. This allows them to oversee the implementation of district heating on their own.

In Bospolder-Tussendijken, connection to district heating is a viable and affordable alternative to natural gas. In 2019 and 2020, the municipality, Eneco (hot supplier) and Havensteder (owner of more than 60% real estate) will draw up the business case. On January 21, 2021, the city government, Eneco and Havensteder signed the Natural Gas Free Area Agreement. It states how much the transition to district heating will cost, in which geographic area district heating will be installed and where it is phased/planned.

Over the past two years, agreements have been made with StadsBeheer, engineering firm StadsOnderhoud, StadsOnderhoud natural gas free, StadsBeheer Stedelijk, Eneco and Havensteder on how the implementation of district heating can be combined with sewer replacement. Work agreements have been made, schedules have been coordinated and subsurface layouts have been determined. (www.rrradvice.nl)
